Wood Bodybuck’s
1:43 scale
Hand Built by Pierre Laugier
made in France
$350.00 each
These little gems are each built to order by Pierre. Here is a
little bit about the inspiration and idea behind this series.
Many new cars were designed and built using full-sized,
three-dimensional mock-ups of the car. These mock ups
were usually made in wood and were commonly known as
'bucks'. These 'bucks' were used as patterns to make and
check the fit and form of the hand made body panels so the
fabricators could weld them in place on the chassis as a full
skin. They the real 1:1 ‘bucks’ have often been viewed as art
by numerous enthusiasts, and lend themselves beautifully to
being rendered in miniature.
Inspired by these mock-ups, Pierre has made a wonderful
new series of models called 'Bodybuck' Models. The masters
for each hand-made model were created buy Pierre. Each
‘wood buck’ is made from specially cast resin which is then
cleaned and hand painted by Pierre, in oils to resemble real
wood. These are incredibly realistic. Everyone who sees
them in person as well as in photos believes they are solid
wood. Beautiful artistry and craftsmanship here.
Each miniature “bodybuck” is only available in a small series
and the range will focus on competition sports cars that were
built using the 'buck' technique. These are very limited run
pieces, and Pierre does not intend to make many of each.
Available in choice of two choices finishes:
Light wood: shown on the 250 GTO
Dark wood shown on all others.
